Let's see, I'm 40. Born in raised in Northwest Indiana. Started keeping exotic arthropods while in college and have never looked back. Compared with some of you my collection might be small but it's growing. I love nature everything from plants to animals. I love to write for fun not to be published. I work in special education. I don't know what else to say. So I'm going to move on.

My interest peaked while I was in college. I was taking animals from the backyard to use in presentations and then telling the kids not to do the same thing. Long story short, I got my first arthropods, 2 males and 1 female hissing cockroaches. I also told myself nothing venomous. I got my first tarantula a Chilean Rose-hair and everything in between.

Hmmm...general interst:

Ethnobotany

Edible Plants

Nature photography

plants

Native / regular gardening

native and exotic animals

maintaining my small collection

writing

Love trying to get across the idea that just because an animal might not have the best reputation doesn't mean that it's evil. I love doing presentations using the animals. Wish it was as easy to work with adults as it is to get the point across to kids.

have a small odds and ends nature collection somewhat cool

Sorry guys for being gone will try to sneak in a bit more. My writing has taken off and between outlines and typing, it's amazing anything else gets done.

I'm trying really hard to get a book written. It may not be the best book ever written but I've got to try. It's taking up about two hours every day.

I've talked to Jacob and as soon as the weather warms up we will be out looking. I know we can find the garters and the browns, but I've never seen the green snakes. But then again, maybe it's because I've noticed them. You're talking about the rough green snake right?

yeah...iv not seen em around here either. but i found em when i was a kid all the time & i live all but 20 miles from here...idk, just keep ur eyes peeled.

im just lookin for maybe 4 or 5 garters at the most & same with the browns.

good luck with the book!!
