Why can't I login?

If you've just signed up, be sure you've activated your account via the confirmation email. Otherwise, make sure the Caps Lock isn't on. If you've forgotten your password, you can have it sent to the email you have listed by clicking the Forgot My Password link, located below the login field. If all else fails, please contact the Admin, or use the Contact link located at the bottom of the page.

Why haven't I received the confirmation email to activate my account?

Be sure to check your "Junk" mail and/or Spam folders. If you still don't see it, please contact the Admin, or use the Contact link located at the bottom of the page.

NOTE: If you're not receiving site emails (e.g. message/comment notifications, admin emails, etc.), be sure to add admin@insectgeeks.com to your address book and or safe/approve list.

Why is Ig running slow?

If you're using IE (Internet Explorer), try deleting your browser's cache;
Tools > Internet Options > from Browsing History, click the Delete button, then delete Temporary Internet Files and Cookies

If that doesn't speed it up, try reseting the browser settings;
Tools > Internet Options > from the Advanced tab, click the Reset button.

How do I stop receiving so many email notifications?

What are Butterfly Points?

Butterfly Points are essentially rewards for site activity, given for such things as posting photos, videos, blogs, etc. You can redeem your points for such things as eGifts.

Can I change my member name?

Only one name change is allowed per member. Please contact the Admin for approval.

How do I close my account?

How do I customize my profile's appearance?

My Account > Settings > Design My Profile

How do I get a Contact Panel on my profile?

You cannot see your own contact panel, simply because you cannot send yourself a message, friend request, etc.

How do I cancel my monthly Pro/VIP Membership?

Within your PayPal's recent History, you will see the last monthly subscription entry with the status, Active. Simply click the Details link and scroll down to the bottom and click the Cancel Subscription button.

How do I add a Video?

First, post your video on YouTube, MySpace, Google Video, etc. When your video becomes available, you'll need to copy/paste the URL link (not the Embed code) into the Ig upload form.

Sections > Videos > Add Video

Give your video a Title, select the appropriate Category, add some Tags (keywords), provide optional details, select the source of where your video is located (e.g. YouTube), then paste the URL link into the field provided and click the Post Video button.

How do I report a violation of the Terms?

From the violator's profile page, scroll to the bottom and click the Report This User link; an email will then be sent to the Admin.

NOTE: We take all reports seriously and act with prompt investigation/resolution.

What are the consequences for violating the Terms?

First and foremost, we attempt to resolve all matters directly with members personally and privately. If this is not successful, a warning is issued. Members will receive 2 warnings and on the third/final warning, they are temporarily banned for 1 month. Upon returning, they have no more warnings available to them. The next violation results in a permanent removal of the site, terminating all photos, videos, blogs, etc.
