Okay - I hope you folks can help me out here.

Someone recently commissioned me to do some artwork for their sister's birthday of some insects for her.  Their sister is an entomology major and has a fondness for dog day cicadas. 

This is not my usual subject matter and want to make sure this looks like a dog day cicada and that I haven't drawn something so off that it will look glaringly wrong to someone who knows the material. I am working off of references but a second opinion is always helpful. 

So that said, any feedback anyone can give me on this could be appreciated. This isn't the finished piece but wanted to make sure that so far this is looking alright.

What else do you do?  Do you have other artwork posted on a thread here somwhere?

Still not quite done on this, but I figured I'd post progress. Sorry bout the watermark but this is a commission.

FaaFaa: Thanks! I don't have anything else posted on this forum.
My usual work is more in the fantasy/sci fi vein of things.

A close friend of mine requested this and an additional piece
(that I have yet to start but will probably be posted here)
and I decided to give it a try.

Okay - return of the Artist Who Can't Draw Insects. 

This time its supposed to be a Carolina Praying Mantis 

Please let me know if I screwed up anything on this - and what I need to do to fix it.
