I agree.

I don't mind the beetle fights as long as they are the same species fighting over a female as it is in the wild. They pretty much wrestle and no real damage is done. I saw one where they have removed a beetle before any of them were injured. Some of those guys seem to care for their little wrestlers. :)

Although, I don't think that those more natural and humane fights are represented on that site. I saw the photos of different species in a ring and will not watch them as it sickens me. :(

I keep and feed live prey to my bugs, but I actually have feelings for my feeders and will spoil them with fresh fruits, veggies, and fish food. They are what gives life to my other creatures and I love them. I would never feed prey that is too large and may out match my predators, cause that would be no different than having my own "bug fights".

Always up for observing my local invertebrates.

Cruel and shameful human habits continue to live on.
I only hope that most people who are members of this forum do no follow these practices.

They do this in nature, and 99% of the time there are no injuries just hurt pride. Dog fighting is forced upon the animal and results in the death of the other animal sometimes both. My D granti wrestle without being enticed, they do it out of instinct. the stronger beetle gets the girl.
