I have lived in Rhode Island my whole life and to be honest, can't imagine living anywhere else. The summers are great. For the most part I live a simple life...work Mon-Fri and play on the weekend. I have a small, but very dedicated and much appreciated group of friends. Hanging out with these friends is great because we can have just as much fun staying in watching a DVD as we would going out to a club to see a live band and have a few beers. I love movies (see my entry on movies) and am really into local tribute bands. I also get hired by the elementary schools and libraries in RI and MA to do presentations on invertebrates (insects and arachnids) for the science classes and summer reading programs. I really enjoy doing this and this is how I got the nickname of the Bug Guy. During the long winter months I also put together insect displays to sell on eBay. During the spring through fall I spend alot of time gardening and I have a greenhouse that I raise butterflies and moths in by the thousands in a predator-free environment. Local species are then released back into the wild. I am very much an animal lover and currently have one cat (Lily) as well as all of the creepy crawlies I bring with me to my presentations. Over the past few years I have also really gotten into digital photography. I take alot of pictures in my greenhouse of not only the flowers but of the butterflies themselves.

My main interests are lepidoptera (in particular Papilionidae and Saturniidae) and tarantulas but also have a fascination with odd insects and arachnids, the bigger the better.

Entomology, gardening, movies, music, cryptozoology, UFOs, the occult (I don't practice but love reading about it), digital photography, Halloween (the holiday and the movie), haunted houses (real and those you can go to at Halloween) and carnivorous plants.

I just LOVE movies and I never get tired of watching them. My favorites are horror and science fiction (those with good stories, not just a high body count) and am very partial to the black and white sci-fi classics of the 50's. Some of my favorite horror movies are NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, DAWN OF THE DEAD, DAY OF THE DEAD, the 1st three FRIDAY THE 13TH movies, the 1st four HALLOWEEN movies, the 1st and 3rd NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movies, FRIGHT NIGHT, LOST BOYS, John Carpenter's THE THING, all of the EVIL DEAD movies, all of the PHANTASM movies, TREMORS, PSYCHO, THE EXORCIST, PLANET TERROR/DEATH PROOF, the 1st two ALIEN movies, PREDATOR, SLITHER, all of the TERMINATOR films, PUMPKINHEAD, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN and too many others to mention. Just recently I saw and really loved ZOMBIES ZOMBIES ZOMBIES! I also never grow tired of a quality action movie (must have a good plot though) and stupid comedies are a must (films like THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN, THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, THE SWEETEST THING, KINGPIN, THE WEDDING SINGER, DOC HOLLYWOOD, 50 FIRST DATES, ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO MOVIE (and anything by Kevin Smith) and the first three AMERICAN PIE movies come to mind. SUPERBAD and PINEAPPLE EXPRESS were also amazingly funny. My favorite romantic comedy is WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING and I loved FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL and WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS. I am also a HUGE fan of the X-MEN and SPIDER-MAN films and the 1st CROW was amazing. SERENITY, the film from the tv show FIREFLY, is also highly recommended. It features an aerial battle that blows away anything seen in any STAR WARS movie! I also loved the 1st two JAWS movies, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE 3RD KIND, POLTERGEIST, both GREMLINS movies and all three BACK TO THE FUTURE films. I am also a big fan of PULP FICTION, RESERVOIR DOGS, the RESIDENT EVIL films, KILL BILL 1 & 2, JUNO and IRON MAN.

I like most types of music, in particular 80's hair band stuff. I will say though that most of today's music really sucks (how many remakes are there going to be already??? God forbid someone should come up with something original). I do like alot of today's "alternative" rock but hate country and rap (which I like to refer to as crap). I never get tired of bands like Skid Row, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Poison, Queensryche, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Vixen, Pink Floyd, Nelson, Journey, Slaughter, Night Ranger, Motley Crue, Styx, Boston and Manowar. Some of today's artists that I really like are Collective Soul, Godsmack and Rob Zombie. I also love bands like the Cranberries and my cd collection also has Cyndi Lauper, Jewel, Avril Lavigne
