Was super excited
Posted On 02/20/2011 14:24:19 by shyguyx
When my Male Curly hair molted for the final time, I was excited. I thought about how great it would be to maybe get a female for him or to send him off to someone else. I even had an offer for a female. Then the more I thought about it, and really weighed the pros and cons, I just don't want to take on any more right now. Other areas of my life are crazy right now. I'm looking at the future and not even sure what next year will bring. I want to breed but from what I've seen, I just don't... Read More

As you will see in the video, I had fed him a day before. When I checked this morning, he had flipped. Now normally I could of left the B. lateralis roach in there with him, without incident. You can't take that chance with crickets. A cricket would attempt to eat your tarantula. So good practice, regardless of prey, is to remove them... Read More

A "Corrected" Mistake
Posted On 07/21/2009 20:07:24 by Hydrophobiciguana
Milan, MI, 21 July, 2009: The other day, cleaning up the leftovers of Spring's crops (lettuce and peas), I encountered my first Enoplognatha ovata. She was beautiful: brilliant white, with two bright red stripes. Reading up on her, I discovered that E. ovata come in three varieties: White, white with red stripes, and (more or less) red. I HAD to see the red variety; so much so, this morning and evening found me searching the garden for the spider from the previous day in the hopes of cat... Read More
