Well, I'm currently in NW Illinois after living in northern MN, and southwest AZ. I have always had a fascination with insects and everything nature related since I was really little. I finally decided to take that fascination and make a career out of it by teaching high school life science. When I actually have a moment free (which rarely happens), I may be found outside with the dog, curled up with a book or researching my latest interest.

Mantidae and Coleoptera are my favs, but I think everything is cool.

I'm finally in a spot where I can start actually acquiring specimens for my classroom. We currently only have:

2 Madagascar hissers, 12 Chinese mantises: nine females and 3 busy males and 2 Carolina mantids and breeding group of lobster roaches.

but, hopefully, this section will grow... anybody got something to donate or discount for a good, educational cause???

We also have Mo, an 14 year old iguana, a pumpkinseed sunfish, and a few bettas

I have quite a few female Chinese mantids who will be setting oothecas soon.. Anyone interested in one- let me know... it will go to a good cause!

I would love emperor scorpions, millipede or centipede, orchid and/or ghost mantises, occasional handle friendly tarantula and some big beetles.
