I love bugs and dream of becoming an entomologist. I hope to attend graduate school for entomology within the next year or two. I thought that this site might be helpful for networking and education. I plan on teaching myself all that I can learn about bugs while I work towards my goals.

All bugs and spiders fascinate me. I could be content sitting outside all day watching and observing insect behavior. I especially prefer lepidoptera, Odonata, Mantodea, Hemiptera. I love spiders too and if I had to choose favorites it would be jumping spiders and crab spiders.

Insects, outdoors, nature, hiking, insect photography, biology, movies, reading, sustainibility, environment, animal rights

None except those that I cohabitate with: cluster flies, carpet beetles, moths, cellar spiders and other miscellaneous creatures. Last fall the yellowjacket wasps were living inside with me and I woke up with one tickling my arm when I was sleeping in bed. Today I found a dead fly that had a larvae come out of it's abdomen. I should have saved the larvae to see what it turned into.

I am currently working as a scientist.

action, suspense, independent films; I'll watch just about anything;
Alternative, rock, classical, oldies
One of my favorite songs from my childhood was Spin Spider Spin.
