My name is Joseph, and I live in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. I have had a keen interest in insects almost all of my life.

Learning about the native insect species in Delaware. There are some very cool Dolichopodidae in my garden.

Organic flower gardening (Japanese morning glories and other Ipomoea species, Salvia, Scrophulariaceae), seed saving and exchange, violin and fiddle music.

Small colony of Giant Madagascar Hissing Roaches (Gromphadorhina portentosa).

I have had the following insects in cultures and enjoyed them much, alas they are now history:

--Panchlora nivea (Green Banana Roaches)
The Panchlora nivea are pretty secretive, yet pretty nevertheless.

--Pseudocreobotra ocellata (Spiny Flower Mantis)
Alas, the last adults died recently. They were fun and worth growing out if you haven't tried.

Thank you! I will study English my best.

Sometimes, I see both meal worms in Petshop. But,I have never reared these..

You're right. In Japan, breeding Lucanidae & Rhinoceros Beetle is popular hobby. Good foods for each speies are on sale in pet shop. And,in summer, I go to forest for catching some Lucanidae. There are 3species in forest near my home.(Dorcus rectus, Dorcus striatipennis, Prosopocoilus inclinatus)

I investigated for Lucanidae of Delaware and near states. There is some possibility of that 8species are distributed.

1.Lucanus elaphus

2.L. capreolus

3.Dorcus parallelus

4.D. brevis

5.Platycerus virescens

6.P. depressus

7.Nicagus occultus

8.Ceruchus piceus

I think this HP that serves as a useful reference.

Robert, Are there any commercial sources in US for Archiblatta hoeveni? I would love to rear and enjoy this cool looking roach.

Yessir, Giger is the best!

I don't often use art that's done by others, but I couldn't think of anything better...

Yeah!! that cow bug picture was taken by me using the macro of a sony digital camera. I am not very good with the SLRcamera. It takes a lot of practice to get an idea of how to take pictures using the SLR, I guess. I tried a couple of times, but have to find time for macro photography.

Hi Seena, did you take the cool picture of the treehopper on your wallpaper?

What kind of camera gear do you use? I have an old Nikon D70 on which I use some old classic manual focus lenses. It's a lot of fun.

Alas, no. Sorry :/ I don't even do that anymore, so I've become woefully rusty at it even if I wanted to try. I guess I oughta update my profile info...
